Guided Quail Hunts in South Carolina
Rockin Robin Kennel & Outfitters is proud to offer some of South Carolina's finest quail hunts in partnership with Almost Heaven Plantation. We welcome hunters to join us for a memorable traditional quail hunt and embrace the majestic spirit of the low country.
Traditional Quail Hunting Trips
Our quail hunting trips follow a true Southern tradition - providing guests with an authentic wild bird experience that dates back centuries. Each hunting group is accompanied by an experienced guide and a scout along with some of the finest pointing and flushing dogs in the South. Our well-trained English Pointers and English Setters will help find the birds and our English Cockers will flush and retrieve to hand.
What to Expect on Your Guided Quail Hunt
When hunting quail with us, you can expect to hunt early-released Bobwhite quail in hard-flying coveys. These are not "put-and-take" hunts on kick-up birds, but rather seek to offer hunters an authentic South Carolina quail hunting experience on wild birds in high quantities.
The traditional quail hunts are broken into half days and full days, but hunters often come for 7 days in total. Each hunting day is broken up into 3-hour outings in the mornings and evenings, with an average of 10-14 coveys per hunt and each covey containing 20 to 40 birds. These hunts are limited to 4 shooters per group to provide a first quality and enjoyable day in the field. Lunch is provided after the morning hunt or before the afternoon hunt, and hunters can look forward to relaxing in the luxury Orvis-endorsed quail hunting lodge at Almost Heaven Plantation in the evenings.
